Catator Expands into Lund’s New Signature Property, The Loop, in Science Village

Catator’s strategic expansion into Science Village underscores its commitment to collaboration, innovation, and sustainability, setting the stage to accelerate the transition to a green hydrogen economy.

In August 2025, Catator will move into brand-new facilities at Science Village, Lund, Sweden. Once complete, the area will serve as a hub for R&D intensive companies, world leading academics, labs and state-of-the-art research infrastructure. For Catator, the facilities enable close connections and thus collaboration between office work and contract development in the laboratory.

The aim of Science Village is to develop a knowledge ecosystem that can benefit from the research from ESS and MAX IV, already located in the area. This includes developing compatible functions and activities, developing and building the campus environment and developing and running the Science Center.

– Catator’s expansion to Science Village serves several purposes. With our roots in academia, relocating here brings us closer to the research and development activities at Lund University. The new facilities enable the implement of our ambitious growth plan: to reach a turnover of 1 billion SEK by 2035. Science Village also offers cutting-edge research infrastructure, attracting the talent and businesses we are eager to collaborate with. In many ways, expanding to Science Village is a cultural development for us. We are actively recruiting and will continue to do so in the coming years, and our vision is that this environment will help us retain our current employees while also appealing to new talent, says Tarras Delin, CEO at Catator.

Catator’s integrated catalytic reactors make it possible to transform nearly any fuel into hydrogen – and hydrogen into heat, power and fuel. Emission-free. Expanding Catator’s office and research facilities to an environment that exudes sustainability, will help drive ideas to further accelerate the energy transition.

– We are very excited having signed the contract with Catator. The tenants for Science Village have been handpicked to make sure the intended collaboration environment can be achieved. Catator’s international customer base and research driven business fits this intention very well and we are happy to welcome them here this summer, says Adrian Sollie, Business Development Manager South at Vectura.

Catator's current facilities will be converted and optimized for production, assembly and full-scale reactor testing.
